I have never been a big traveler. Then a married someone who doesn't like to travel. So basically we don't travel. That is just fine with me, but I do like to discover/explore things and have fun. I really love the concept of a "staycation" and discovering where I live.
I am blessed to live in Boise, Idaho where there are tons of fun FREE or inexpensive things to do and see. I was super happy that this weekend in the Idaho Statesman there was an insert called Gems of the Treasure Valley. It listed 69 things to explore within Boise and the surrounding cities in the Treasure Valley, most of them FREE. There were several places I have been meaning to see but forgot about and several places I didn't even know about! I can't wait to start re-discovering where I live! You locals - check it out! Non-locals, look for ways to re-discover where you live!

Awesome tip! People don't realize how much culture and history is in their own backyards. There are lots of things off the beaten path to visit right in your own state.
:)
Don't like to travel? Michelle, why's that? I LOVE to travel (not so much with kids) but we do. That's why I'm frugal . . . so I can spend it on other stuff like vacations or doing stuff here in Boise.
