Works for me Wednesday - Toys Worth Buying

This week Rocks in my Dryer's Works for me Wednesday is to share toys that are worth buying - just in time for Christmas!

I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old, and they have seen there fair share of toys. In my opinion, these are the best toys for kids:

  1. Blocks (price varies) - we have a drawstring bag of alphabet blocks. Any age can play with them, they last forever, and they are a tool for learning the alphabet! Win-win-win!
  2. Legos/Megablocks/Duplos (price varies) - hours of fun to be had by all!
  3. LeapFrog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set ($19.99)- This is how my son learned the alphabet. You place the magnetic letters into a holder and it says the letter, the sound it makes, and sings a catchy tune.

I must also add that most of the toys my kids have were hand me downs from family, gifts, or were purchased from yard sales. My kids have many toys and very few were purchased new. It is possible for your kids to gave a great selection of toys for very little money. I also rotate toys. My son has two big red tubs of toys. One is in storage. Every few months I switch them - to him it is like he has new toys!

Check out Rocks in my Dryer for other great ideas this week!
